We have some exciting (and slightly mischievous) news.

My Fiction World is organising an upcoming Writing Competition, and we suspect you may be guilty of having imagination, creativity, and stories begging to be written. Naturally, this means you are invited.

This competition exists for one simple reason: stories deserve to escape laptops, notebooks, and half-finished drafts at 2 a.m. We welcome writers of all kinds—seasoned pros, brave beginners, and those who swear they’ll “edit it later.”

Both diamonds came from a 3,106-carat gem found in South Africa in 1905 called the Cullinan Diamond. The largest stone, called the Great Star of Africa, is in the Sovereign's Sceptre, while the second largest is mounted in the Imperial State Crown.

Although almost everyone knows and even refers to the # symbol as either "hashtag" or "pound", its technical name is actually "octothorpe". Its simple to understand where the “octo-” comes from since it means “eight” and refers to the symbol's eight points. The "thorpe" part of its name is less simple. Some claim it was named after Olympian Jim Thorpe, while others argue it was just a nonsense suffix.
