Part 1 Rekindling the Flame
John turned down the lights in the living room, making the space cozy and comfortable. Mary was sitting on the old leather couch, wrapped in a blanket, and the soft glow from the lights made the room feel warm. The calmness that used to be fine between them now feels difficult. John put the DVD in and the movie "The Notebook" showed up on the screen.
"So predictable," Mary said quietly, pretending not to care. John laughed, a sound that they hadn't heard in their quiet apartment for a while.
"Perhaps," he agreed, "but sometimes a familiar saying is exactly what we require. "
While watching the movie, Mary became captivated by a love story that lasted for many years. Noah and Allie's strong love even when bad things happen really affected her. John, who loves watching movies, kept looking at Mary to see how she was reacting. He noticed a small sign of a feeling he hadn't felt for a long time - a little spark of emotion.

The final scene, Noah reading Allie their love story, a story etched in their hearts despite fading memories, left them both in stunned silence. Mary started to cry, so she couldn't see the credits on the screen. John, with a lot of feelings in his voice, spoke first.
"Have we not been like that before. " he whispered, with a hint of sorrow, not blaming anyone.
Mary moved her head from side to side, and one tear fell down her cheek. "I have to admit, we haven't even given it a try," she said quietly.
There was a long pause, it felt heavy but not awkward. They both started to understand that their love was still there, but it had been hidden by their daily routine and things they hadn't talked about. John slowly and nervously touched Mary's face with his hand.
"Please, can we give it a try. " he asked, looking into her eyes. Mary felt his touch and a tear was on her cheek.
"Yes," she said quietly, with a spark of hope in her eyes. "Let's give it a shot. "
