A Close Call with a Curious Canine

Hey everyone,

Priscilla here! Today was quite the ordeal. I was just minding my own business, enjoying a particularly delicious acorn, when I heard a strange noise. I looked up to see a giant, furry creature sniffing around the base of the tree. It was a dog!

I quickly scurried up the trunk, my heart pounding. The dog, oblivious to my presence, continued to sniff and bark. I couldn't believe how close it had gotten! I've never been so scared in my life.

After what felt like an eternity, the dog finally lost interest and wandered off. I let out a sigh of relief and continued my acorn feast. Lesson learned: always be on the lookout for potential threats, no matter how small or large.

The Flatmate Face-Off

Hey everyone, surviving another day in the adulting jungle! Today's adventure: navigating the delicate ecosystem of co-habitation with flatmates.

The kitchen is a warzone. Passive-aggressive notes left on the fridge ("Please don't eat the last samosa - hungry roommate") are the only form of communication. Adulting involves mastering the art of telepathic dishwashing and telekinetic grocery restocking.

The washing machine is a coveted possession, booked weeks in advance. The battle for prime oven time during meal prep can get downright strategic (and slightly dramatic). Adulting is learning to negotiate appliance usage rights with the maturity of a seasoned diplomat.

But hey, sometimes amidst the chaos, there's a shared victory. Like finally defeating that army of ants that mysteriously appears every monsoon season. Or collectively bargaining with the local chai stall for a discount on our daily dose of caffeine.

There's also a weird sense of camaraderie that comes with sharing…

The Chronicles of a Clumsy Boy

Today started with a bang—literally. I tripped over my own shoelaces, spilled my coffee, and somehow managed to simultaneously drop my phone and catch it with my face. Yes, folks, I am the Picasso of accidental chaos. My life is a walking, talking, meme-worthy masterpiece.

It all began when I decided to “adult” and make breakfast. I was feeling ambitious—eggs and toast. Simple, right? Wrong. One moment, I was flipping an egg like a pro, and the next, I was staring at my cat, who had stolen my toast mid-flip. He looked me dead in the eye as if to say, “Survival of the fittest, buddy.”

Later, during a Zoom meeting, I thought I was muted while munching on chips. Spoiler alert: I wasn’t. My boss paused mid-sentence and said, “Glad someone’s enjoying the meeting.” Cue my frantic search for the mute button as I tried to swallow the evidence…

Writers Block

Writer’s block is that dramatic phase where your brain clocks in, sits down, stares at the screen, sighs deeply, and says, “Let’s not do this today.” The cursor blinks like it knows something you don’t. Your coffee goes cold. Your confidence disappears. Suddenly, reorganising folders and questioning your life choices feels more productive than writing one sentence.

Warning: Your Stories May Be Required (Writing Competition Invitation)

Dear Writer,

We have some exciting (and slightly mischievous) news.

My Fiction World is organising an upcoming Writing Competition, and we suspect you may be guilty of having imagination, creativity, and stories begging to be written. Naturally, this means you are invited.

This competition exists for one simple reason: stories deserve to escape laptops, notebooks, and half-finished drafts at 2 a.m. We welcome writers of all kinds—seasoned pros, brave beginners, and those who swear they’ll “edit it later.”
